[Kirk wandered into the Infirmary about ten minutes later, rubbing a palm against her side as she walked.]

"Pretty sure this is your fault, you know."

[Just in case Bones was wondering who she was placing the blame on.]

Really, feel free to explain your inane reasoning to me. [McCoy gestured for her to sit on one of the beds as he approached.]

"Because it's been bugging me since my fight with Shinzon and you were the one who patched me up after?"

[Just a thought.

Kirk moved to sit on one of the beds, trying to look about as awkward as she could manage.]

I patched you up just fine- I'm a damned good doctor and you're a damned terrible patient. You probably ignored my pointed comments about straining yourself. [He said, lifting her shirt a bit to examine her side.]

"Healthy as a horse my ass, Bones." [Kirk shot back at him, leaning to the side a little bit to give him better access.] "It's higher up."

[McCoy rolled his eyes as he examined her ribs.] You were at the time, you probably went and rough housed with Shego- [He paused, pressing an area lightly.] Did that hurt?

[Kirk twitched a little bit.] "Still higher and kind of to the left." [Riiight into boob territory.] "And it was bugging me before Shego, so stop blaming her."

[Poor McCoy pressed the area in question, still in professional mode too much to suspect ulterior motives.] I scanned you Jim, your ribs were fine. A little tender since the fight but not enough to cause any pain.

[Well, Kirk never had to deal with blurring the lines between doctor and patient and she really enjoyed the touch to her chest region. It was nice, okay. She totally got why women loved it now. And if she gasped a little bit, that wasn't her fault.]

"Oh, so you're singing the praises of technology now, huh? Is the world ending too?"

[McCoy glanced at her at the gasp, momentarily faltered but damnit, he was professional. Or at least trying to be until Jim gave him a reason to kick her ass.]

Maybe I have a bit more respect for it after having to deal with this barbaric nonsense. [He said, lowering his hand slightly.] What I mean is I don't make such simple mistakes, especially not when I only get one go at you a decade the way you skip appointments. [He moved his hand away.] I think you managed to bruise 'em.

"Oh so you're set until I'm past the ripe age of thirty then?" [Kirk retorted, though that was hardly a fair accusation. Since it wasn't like she had any appointments to break. A sudden decision for the need for a physical was not an appointment.]

"You didn't check the other side."

I'm set until next week when you do something stupid and fracture one of those bones of yours. [McCoy shot back. He gave Kirk a look, yeah, he was starting to catch on somewhere in his brain. Not enough to do much more than huff as he pressed his fingers to the other side of her rib cage.]

"Easy on the goods, Bones." [Kirk joked, leaning into the touch just a little bit. Not enough to be blatant but he was a doctor, he'd probably be able to sense it. And the ribs on her other side were completely fine.] "They can't offend you that much."

What can't offend me? Your healthy sense of adventure? [He said sardonically, pulling his hand away to quirk an eyebrow at Jim. And not look at her breasts.] You'll live, just don't rough house for the rest of the week.

[Kirk rolled her eyes at that, at how dense Bones was sometimes.] "Define rough house."

What gave you that- [He nodded to her ribs.] -in the first place.

[Kirk smiled at him slowly.] "So sex is still okay?"

[Have a Look Kirk.] Depends on what kind you have in mind.

"Whatever you have in mind, sugar bear." [Kirk replied cheekily, reaching out to grab McCoy's hand and pull it back towards her chest.] "I need to be doctored."

[McCoy let out a frustrated sigh as he pulled his hand away.] I should have known, the only way to get you down here would be sex. No, Jim.

"I'm not going to get pregnant, for the love of god." [Kirk retorted, scowling at him.] "So give me a good reason as to why not."

Give me a good reason why for one damn time you can't leave well enough alone? [McCoy shot back with a scowl of his own.]

"I don't get why you're acting like I'm a leper or something. I'm still me. And if anything, you should like the packaging better now."

'Packaging-' the whole damned thing's a joke to you, isn't it? [McCoy huffed, turning to occupy himself with grabbing his PADD.] I said no and now you have to make a game out of it. Well sorry to tell you, I'm not playing this round.

[Kirk stared at him for a long moment before pushing her shirt down and hopping off the bed.] "Fine but fuck you, Bones. I'm not going to sit around and wait for the times when you actually do like me. You can't have it both ways."
