"How is this not your problem?" [Kirk practically screeched at him, waving her hand around wildly. This wasn't like with Uhura and Spock because Kirk knew that Bones was still attracted to women. It shouldn't make any difference.]

"I literally got changed into a different sex and instead of freaking out about it, I'm willing to experience something new. It's how I am and you asked me to at least try to be monogamous which uh, by the way, I'm trying right now. But my mistake, I didn't realize that I'm only worth having sex with when I don't remind you of your ex-wife."

[McCoy paused at that, giving Jim a long look before speaking again.] That's what this is about? [He asked slowly, turning fully to face Jim.] No offense Jim, but you've never been particularly understanding of the monogamy concept before.

"Yeah and I'm not really that great at it to be honest." [Kirk said, hands on her hips, which really... this should've been obvious but who knew. Maybe it wasn't.] "But you get first dibs and if you don't want it, then someone else will."

You're real charming, you know that? [He frowned but not quite as irately as before. 'First dibs,' he really shouldn't be surprised anymore.] That's what I'm talking about Jim, you can't go using fidelity as a threat for god's sake.

"It's not a threat. It's a fact. I'm having sex like this and if you don't want it, I respect that. I can't say I understand it because my dick is pretty amazing but there's no way it turned you completely off women but whatever. I was trying but now I'm having problems remembering why because it seems to me like it shouldn't be conditional either."

[Kirk gave him an irritated look for that because it wasn't like this was fun for her either. Stupid things bugged her now and she really didn't get how women weren't huge bitches all of the time.]

"Then what is the problem? It's not a game. I'm not jerking you around. It's not like you aren't attractive to women. I'm not a different person. What's the big deal?"

[McCoy just eyed her for a long moment. Alright, even if it had been some sort of game to Kirk it apparently wasn't always that, or wasn't anymore. His brow rose, unsure if he should feel defeated or relieved. He settled for vaguely grumpy.] You're the genius. If you can't figure it out why the hell are you asking me?

"Because it's nicer than just kneeing you in the crotch and leaving?"

[Or she really didn't get why Bones was freaking out over this because she was sort of emotionally retarded and he wasn't giving her any kind of context clues to go on.]

"I'm not being a jerk about this, Bones. I don't get why you keep insisting that I am."

Because Jim- [McCoy had to pause at that. Maybe it was the last port, maybe it was before hand, but even trying his damnedest to ignore it he was beginning to feel something about their relationship. It was pretty close to panic, some sort of neurotic feeling that he had been here before and everything went to shit.

He sighed, pressing one of his temples.] Tell me, do your ribs actually hurt or is this just another seduction attempt? You get points for creativity alright.

"They're not that bad." [Which on a Kirk scale, was like pretty painful to most people. But she'd pretty much built up a tolerance to feeling pain.] "I was killing two birds with one stone."

You're a genius alright. [McCoy's brow rose. What the hell.] That offer still open?

[Kirk stared for a split second before she smiled slowly.] "Maybe I need some convincing."

[McCoy let himself have a moment to be exasperated.] Maybe I should try using some of your lines against you. Nice shoes, want to fuck? [He said, vague bemusement in his tone despite himself.]

"Your pants must be made out of mirrors." [Kirk said, slinging an arm around the doctor's neck and pulling him in closer before she lowered her voice.] "Because I can see myself in them."

[McCoy nearly groaned at how terrible that one was, putting his hands at Kirk's waist.] I'd hate to see the sad bunch that fell for that one.

"You should probably avoid looking at your mirror pants then." [She pressed in closer, resting her mouth against his chin.] "Can we go back to your room now that you've seen the light?"
