I changed my codename when I was a teenager. I've been going by Nightwing since then, but there have been other Robins.

Nightwing was the name of a vigilante on Krypton. Superman told me the story after Batman fired me, and I thought it sounded cool.

I almost got killed on patrol, it sort of spooked him into firing me before I could make it permanent.

Of course, I more or less get that now, but back when it happened, I was pretty crushed.

I would've been too. It seems a little paranoid to me. I wouldn't fire one of my crew members for almost dying.
