[McCoy was mad, the kind of 'seeing red' anger he had certainly felt before though never quite as intense. He had always been emotional, hell he wore his heart on his god damned sleeve if someone was clever enough to look for it. For the first time since the destruction of Vulcan McCoy empathized with Spock- though he couldn't help bu be frightened at just how deeply the Vulcan's emotions apparently ran.

He made it to Jim's cabin, barging in to glare at Jim- older Jim- trying to regulate the hot surge of anger. He had to believe despite all this he could never truly hurt Jim, that as a friend and as a god damned doctor he had that control. It didn't stop him from wanting to slap the idiot into next tuesday.]

I need a drink but Vulcan's don't process alcohol the same way. [He growled in T'Pol's voice.]

[Kirk startles a little bit when Bones appears in his room, and really, he should be used to this by now. The doctor does it like every other damn week.]

"... she's hotter than I thought she'd be when she's pissed," [he comments idly.]

[McCoy glowers at him, closing the door behind him and stepping further in with the kind of awkward movement of someone uncomfortable with the body they're in.]

I never thought I'd love the idea of cold, hard logic so much.

"What do you want me to do about it?"

"And for another thing, you're sitting there complaining about a change that I actually think would be pretty cool because it's not like you get to experience what being a Vulcan is like every day."
