[Well that's just kind of depressing. Jim raised an eyebrow at the decor.] "You really like green."

She pouted. "Old habits die hard, okay? It's been forever since I was living somewhere for long enough to bother decorating."

Aww well don't pout at him. Jim reached for her, smiling at her a little bit. "Green suits you."

"Yes. Yes I do. I even dug out my sunset-est lotion for you." She waved at a sliding door over on one side of the room. "Bedroom's through there."

"I just don't understand how you can know what a sunset smells like. Or a breeze or whatever strange names there are," Jim answered, heading for the bedroom and yeah, this was an improvement over her last place. Less creepy cave like.

"Yeah, it's not like anyone's ever named a guys' hygiene product after an abstract noun. I would happily put money on you using aftershave called Storm or Armageddon or something when you were fourteen or however old you were when you started going after the female population of Iowa." She paused in both speaking and unbuttoning her shirt. "If you were less than fourteen I don't wanna know."

"I was fifteen thank you," Kirk answered, sitting on the edge of her bed, and maybe watching her undress, what of it. He had permission to look now. "Girls still had cooties at fourteen."

"Gee, I'm sorry. How could I ever have underestimated you so terribly." She dropped her shirt on his head and shimmied out of her skirt before lying down on her stomach, arms folded under her chin. "Or overestimated, actually. You were seriously not interested in girls until you were fifteen?"

In all honesty, Jim wasn't fond of people in general as an early teenager but that was just depressing.

"That was a joke. I just had all of my firsts at fifteen," Kirk answered, sniffing at the lotion almost suspicously for a moment before leaning over her and putting his hands on her back.

"Feel like a sunset yet?"

"I'll let you know." She closed her eyes, relaxing a little. "So what else was there? Your first court appearance? First overnight stay in jail?"

"First time I had a drink." Jim pinched her side lightly before going back to her shoulders. "I haven't done that much time in jail."

She grinned and squirmed. "You were still a total punk kid. I was out saving the world when I was fifteen."

"Mm." She shifted a little under his hands. "So what's your Inmate's deal? Besides the criminally offensive haircut and tendency to scream like a girl in trying situations, I mean."

"Morally grey compass. Selfish tendencies. I think I have a type," Jim stopped moving his hands for a moment. "What did you do to him to make him scream?"

She didn't even comment on that first remark because it was true.

"Nothing, James. I happened to be around when he came up on deck for the first time, apparently it was just that traumatic."

It was probably just because he could that made Kirk lean down and bite her on the neck lightly. She said to do it, you can't blame him for that. "I still maintain you are scary."

She made an indescribable noise and reached around blindly to slap at the side of his head.

"Not so scary that you're not okay with just biting me. You are the worst masseur ever."

"It's the lotion. It's not enough like a sunset," Jim answered, resting his chin against her shoulder. "I find myself unthreatened while you're in your underwear anyway."
