I'm back.

The Barge is still standing, it seems like. That's... nice.

So. How's everyone been? Still in one piece? Shego? Anyone new? Hello. I'm Captain James Kirk. I was here... a while ago.

[ooc; If you know Kirk reeeeeeeally really well, you might notice that he sounds kind of wheezy. It's not Enterprise if Kirk doesn't get injured at some point. And you really don't need both of your lungs, if you think about it. He's been gone for 4 months on his end so he really has no idea how long it's been here.]

"Just thinking about you makes me nauseous," she said blandly, then looked up. "I got assigned to another Warden while you were gone. Patrick Kenzie."

That name sounded familiar but Kirk wasn't sure if he could put a face to it. And that worried him a little bit too. Stupid memory problems.

"Temporarily or permanently?"

She shrugged. "Temporarily, I think. Why, you completely sick of me?"

"Not a chance. Just trying to figure out if this was turning out to be a repeat of last year."

"Oh." She paused. "He came back - Banner, I mean. Only it's one of those deals where he's totally never been here before and doesn't remember anything."

"You're kidding? That Admiral has a sick obsession with fucking with memories."

"It might not be exactly the same guy. Barge is all about this 'alternate universe' crap." She wiggled her fingers in a vague indication of 'weird shit'.

Jim rolls his eyes, even though his entire life is an alternate universe. He's maybe made his peace with that. If he never has to talk to the other Kirk again.

"What did Patrick do when all of that shit with Profit went down?"

"I didn't admit to it until a little while later, after the port. He dealt with it." She pulled a face. "The whole thing got...kind of stupid. Eddie Nygma is like...Profit's best friend or his boyfriend or something, so when Profit was...when it happened, Nygma leapt to the conclusion that Mozenrath was involved - he went to his room, shoved his way in. Pulled a gun on him, maybe. He said he'd forgotten Mozenrath had a Warden he should have gone to instead. So then Snape got involved, and...it just exploded into some huge thing over whether Nygma had done the right thing or what should be done about what he'd done. Whatever. I stayed out of it, so did Profit, as far as I saw."

"That was smart at least." There's maybe a little bitterness to his tone still. At least she didn't die. He supposes that's something. "Have you apologizes to Profit?"

"No." She laughed hollowly. "He said it was okay, though. He actually apologized to me."

"For what he did? Did you accept it?"

"Yes." Kinda. She'd been about as sincere as he had.

"I still think you owe him an apology. And me a drink."

"Well, I don't have any liquor. I ran out and then I had a don't-drink-on-top-of-painkillers thing to deal with."

"... I'm sorry?" Just when he was starting to calm down again too.

She paused, decided a demonstration was in order here and stood up, turning around and rolling her T-shirt up around her shoulders. The three claw marks scored almost all the way across her back, shoulder to waist, had healed beyond the risk of bleeding again but they were still kind of pink and angry looking, vivid against her skin.

"I did mention the dinosaurs, right?" She pulled her shirt back down.

Jim's mouth was a thin line. "You failed to mention that one of them scratched the shit out of your back. Kind of front page news, Shego. 'I tortured a guy and then I didn't just see a dinosaur, I got attacked by one'."

"Well, I'm telling you now, aren't I? Eesh, you've only been back five minutes." She sat back down. "My leg got cut up too. Needed stitches. It's still healing."

"You take five years off my life every time I turn around." Not that he had an exceptionally long life span anyway, so by that count, he really should be dead... two years ago.

Jim sighed, debating with himself. He didn't really want to advertise what happened at home, but fair was fair. "I got stabbed. That's what's wrong with my lung."

She just looked at him for a second. This from the man who had once said his job was diplomacy and not fistfights. "How'd that happen?"

"Knife fight. More or less. The bastard snuck up on so it was completely unfair. There was already fighting on the planet when I got there. S we had to stop that before we could make any treaty and then Bones wouldn't let me eat on my own basically for weeks and that delayed things even more. And it was just a huge mess."

"You didn't just get stabbed, you actually had a knife fight? What, did you leave your phase thing in your other pants?"

"Uh no, I didn't actually have a knife. And my phaser was broken. So it was a one sided knife fight that I lost but tried very hard to evade and turn on him instead. Hence the 'more or less' part of that."

Shego was still of the opinion that both parties needed a knife to make it a knife fight. Otherwise it was just a scuffle followed by stabbing.

"Whatever. Did you fix the planet?"
