I'm back.

The Barge is still standing, it seems like. That's... nice.

So. How's everyone been? Still in one piece? Shego? Anyone new? Hello. I'm Captain James Kirk. I was here... a while ago.

[ooc; If you know Kirk reeeeeeeally really well, you might notice that he sounds kind of wheezy. It's not Enterprise if Kirk doesn't get injured at some point. And you really don't need both of your lungs, if you think about it. He's been gone for 4 months on his end so he really has no idea how long it's been here.]

You're sure? [And the camera is on Dick now, who looks sort of exhausted but functioning and not dead so. Things aren't too bad.]

[You have no right to lecture me about my broken lung now] I got custody of him because McCoy left.

[Broken lungs > not sleeping, Jim. :|] If you say so.

You want me to bring him down?

[NOT TRUE. My lung is nearly healed :c]

Yeah, that'd be good.

[And Dick is gathering all of Aristotle's things and heading down to Jim's room with him. Door chime, go!]

[So Kirk takes like a minute longer to answer the door. Maybe he's walking a little slower than usual, no big. And if he winces when Aristotle jumps on him? You saw nothing :|]

"I hope he wasn't too much trouble?"

[What did you do to yourself, Jim? :| but omg Dick is happy to see you, brohug is going to happen, be prepared.]

"He was great. He didn't even try to eat me while I was a bird last floor."

[Nothing. I did absolutely nothing to myself. Other people might've done things]

"That's... I don't think he eats meat. You were a bird?"

"For a few days. Animal flood. Nothing too exciting." [And he is stepping inside and putting down Aristotle's stuff on the nearest available surface before turning back to Kirk with a casual shrug.]

"That happened again? That's shitty." [Kirk nudges Aristotle to get down, something of an awkward feat when he's trying to not bend over very much. But he senses an upcoming brohug, so he has to be ready.]

"It wasn't so bad." [As soon as Aristotle's out of the way to move himself back into his room, Dick walked over and hugged him, tightly, but mindful of the stiffness he's been exhibiting. Dick's got enough experience with jnjury and hiding injury and ignoring it to know that you've fucked yourself up, Jim.]

"It's really good to see you."

[It's just a scratch okay. Jim gives him as tight of a hug back that he can manage.]

"I know. I'm a ray of sunshine in your life."

[A moment or two later, he's going to pull back and give you a sort of amused look.]

"So, what did you do to yourself?"

[Who are you people, his mother? Stop fussing.]

"Nothing." [That's not a lie, see. Cause other people did it to him.] "Things just got a little intense."

"Do I get the story?"

"It's really not that good. I'm fine. I wouldn't have been able to escape McCoy's clutches if I wasn't."

"How was everything?"

[He takes a moment to mull this question over.] "... good. Overall good. I missed her more than I thought I did."

"Good. Besides the minor injuries, anyway." [The way he says minor sort of subtly implies he doesn't buy this for a second.]

"You sort of look like shit by the way." [Two can play at this game.]

"I missed you, too."

[Jim shrugs a little and doesn't look sorry at all.]

"Just one concerned friend asking about another."

[He walks over to and leans against a desk, rubbing a hand over one eye before responding.] "I haven't been sleeping much lately."

[Kirk goes to sit back down actually but standing is taxing.] "Any particular reason? Besides obviously missing me so much."

"Bruce, Steph, and Wally are gone. Superboy too. All within a few days of each other." [He shrugs a little halfheartedly.] "I'm down on people to keep me busy at night."
