[She smiled at that, relaxing a little.] Yeah, if you want me to. I guess it's probably not that common where you're from, huh?

"I'm sure someone knows how to do it." [Jim shrugs a little bit.] "But when I was a kid I decided that my time was better used learning hand to hand combat. And now I want to know more."

Hand-to-hand is probably more useful, even for me, [she says with a grin.] But I can teach you.

"Well if you need to be taught how to throw a mean right hook, I can do that for you."

[She laughs and smiles gratefully at him.] Thanks. I don't know that I ever really learned the art of the right hook.

[Cissie takes a deep breath and just... spits it all out in a rush. It's easier that way.] So Mom wanted me to be a hero. She did everything she could to make me one. She even home schooled me so I could take every class possible--gymnastics, ballet, archery, karate, kickboxing, drama, etiquette... I wasn't allowed to get anything but first place. Ever. And I did, because I was a Good Girl. And I always did exactly what Mom said. Until another hero realized she was sending a normal human girl into life-or-death situations and called social services on her and they revoked her parental rights and stuck me in boarding school.

[DEEP BREATH.] And that woman, the one who still thinks I'm fourteen and will do whatever she says and do whatever it takes to get first place? That's who showed up today to yell at me for announcing my real name and not being a hero anymore.

[Kirk doesn't say anything for like ten seconds before he just sighs softly and goes over to force her into a hug. Because he cares like that.]

"I'm sorry. Mothers are real bitches sometimes."

[A hug is pretty much EXACTLY what she needs right now, so she'll just be a little clingy.]

That's for sure. You know when I quit, she slapped me. She handled the news a lot better over the network this afternoon.

"I'm sorry, Cissie." [Even if it is a weird comfort to him that he wasn't the only one with a mother who had unrealistic views of her kid.]

It's okay. I'm sorry for dumping all of this on you.

"Oh please. Don't ever apologize for that. I care about you and your problems."

[She gives him another hug and smiles up at him.] Have I mentioned lately how really glad I am that you came back?

"No but I'm still bruised from when you found out I remembered who you are." [That was a joke. He had never actually checked if he was bruised from her punch. Because checking for bruises was for losers.]

"But good news, I'm not going back for a while."

[Cissie laughs and pats his arm apologetically.] Sorry. But I bet you won't forget again, [she teases.]

Selfishly? I'm glad. I know you'd probably rather be back there.

[Jim frowns a little bit though he really tries not to. Going home was weird. And he hadn't like it very much.]

"I want to focus on Shego for a while."

That's fair. [She totally caught that frown.] ...You know I care about you, too. This listening business works both ways.

"Some of my crew, the ones who used to be here? They don't remember it. Kinda like how I didn't remember any of it. It was just weird. I didn't like being there. And that's never happened before."

[Well, that sucks. Cissie hooks her arm through his and leans against him.] I hate that people forget. It's like--what are we doing this for, if everyone just forgets it when they leave? It doesn't make sense to me.

[Jim laughs because he said the same thing to Uhura.]

"It's a sick joke. And clearly the only way he can get us here to do it is to bribe us with deals."

[Cissie gives a somewhat embarrassed laugh in return.] Well, except for the idiots who are stupid enough not to even bother with a deal. [...Like her.]

[Kirk catches it and gives her a bitter smile.] "Being here for about a month makes you wish you could take him for everything he's got though, doesn't it?"

[She laughs a little.] Well, considering in the first month I was here, I was turned into a man and then I died in that bomb in the mess hall, you may have a point. But even if it makes me an idiot, I'm staying.
