.054 - brain cancer ahoy

Bones, your stupid pills aren't doing anything. And I'm being mature and telling you about my physical ails as it's happening.

So fix it.

Please.

[Private to Uhura]

Do you know how to bake?

[Private to Shego AGAIN]

Seriously just give me some sign that you're still alive. That's all I want.

[ooc; Kirk has this because of T'Pol mad scientist attempt at mind melding during the flood. Thanks bitch, you gave him Vulcan AIDS.]

Calm down will you? [McCoy said.] T'Pol or Spock will know what to do. [In truth he hadn't the faintest clue- he had never even heard of mind melding until their mission began. Vulcans were never particularly wordy with any topic.]

[Kirk snorted and grabbed a pillow to pull closer to himself, just to have something that was comforting even though it didn't really provide him with any relief.]

"Are you sure about that? What if they can't help me?"

I trust T'Pol, in that reality or not. [McCoy answered, shaking his head.] I don't think she would have done permanent damage and I know she'll do everything she damn well can to help.

I met her other self, she may have been ruthless but she was still T'Pol at heart. [McCoy answered. Oh faith.] I don't know Jim, we'll see. If I have to we'll get the Admiral to give some supplies and I'll go in and see if I can fix the damage. Otherwise we'll have to trust T'Pol or Spock to know what to do.

[Kirk's eyes widened almost comically at the idea of brain surgery.]

"You know. You can make the same argument about me during the flood and I would've killed off everyone on this stupid boat if I thought it would get me what I wanted."

[McCoy gave Jim a sharp look.] Vulcans in the Empire were little more than slaves. That's how T'Pol grew up, that's probably why the Federation seemed such a shining ideal to her. Her counterpart helped us, helped me, and for whatever reason she had some of the T'Pol I knew in her.

[He paused.] It wasn't the same of you Jim, or Uhura or Spock. Or me. [He picked up his pack.] If you don't want T'Pol to do it then I'll call Spock but one of them is coming here and taking a look.

"I'm just saying that if she really was nothing better than a slave than the chance to mentally cripple one of the best captains in the Empire would've been a great chance and she would've been stupid to pass it up. And she's not stupid."

[Kirk shrugged a little bit and sighed.] "Yeah cause Spock digging around my head has always turned out for the better."

[He had to admit Kirk had a point, though he didn't say it out loud.] Fine, even if that's the case, even if modern medicine ca do nothing I'll just strike a deal with the Admiral. the bastard owes me after six months of free service. [He settled on.] You're going to be fine, trust me for once i your damn life.

"So. Am I allowed to slap T'Pol if this was her fault?"

No. [McCoy gave him a look before heading to the door and opening it. He frowned, moving aside for her to enter.] God damnit T'Pol, you look like hell. [He said, going for his scanner.]

I am not capable of feeling guilt. [Which was bullshit, but an awesome defense mechanism. And unless that scanner is for her to check out his brain, she don't want it.]

It's Pa'nar Syndrome. In Vulcans, it is easily cured. [Okay she needs to sit. Chair. Chair now oh there's a chair. Sitting next to the bed, T'Pol pauses a moment before lifting a hand for Bones' scanner.] I don't know if there will be differences in human neurology. [How she gets this out without sounding like a frog is kind of epic.]

[spam] LMAO yeah twat waffle.

[identity profile] hyposprayed.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
If you're not busy offering my bed maybe you can try keeping still and listening to her. [McCoy said, turning the scanner to T'Pol to... well, scan her. He frowned, obviously not liking what he was seeing.]

Well, what do you need to treat it in Vulcans? [He asked, handing her the scanner.]

[spam] you two can go fuck yourselves.

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Bullshit you can't feel guilt." [He'd been mind melded by a Spock before. And he got a whole mess of emotions out of the deal that he kind of didn't want at all. So yeah. He knew.

But Jim stayed pretty much still and patient while he waited for T'Pol to declare that he'd live. Or else he really would slap her.]

[He already punched her. ENOUGH MANHANDLING. T'Pol wiped the scans he'd taken of her without an upward glance and held it up to Kirk's head, studying the details.] It's accelerated. Much faster than in Vulcans.

[She hesitates a moment before lowering the scanner to her lap, looking a little uncertain. Just a little. Because that's totally another emotion she doesn't have. SHUT UP KIRK.] It is cured with a proper mindmeld.

[Totally not comfortable with that right now.]

[spam] come on t'pol, t'mar has a school play. or something illogical

[McCoy ran his hand over his mouth, eyes moving from Kirk to T'Pol as he regarded her closely.] Should I get Spock? [He asked, watching her reaction carefully. It was half out of concern for the Vulcan and half out of concern for Kirk- if T'Pol wasn't at her best then he didn't want her rooting around Jim's head.]

[spam] have fun with your bastard

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
"You are not touching my head again if you're having any doubts and don't give me that Vulcan crap that you don't have them." [Kirk said firmly.]

[personal profile] with_discipline 2010-01-19 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
[She probably shouldn't mention that her human captain had to guide her through her first mind meld, huh. For a moment, she looked down at the scans before drawing a slow, steadying breath.]

It is degenerative. I am sure of that; I see no reason for the process to be any different for a human. And I do not believe Spock has first hand experience with the disease. [Mindmelds should be in vogue in their time. Lucky fucks. She lifted her right hand toward his face, hovering.] If you'll permit me?

[spam] yeah, she's a adorable little hobgoblin

[Ff. She inclined her head and leaned forward, very gently placing her fingers against the katric points. For a moment, she held it back, getting herself under control first.]

My mind to your mind. Our minds are merging, [She made the connection almost delicately.] Our minds are one.

[She could remember the sensation of T'Pau conducting the meld that cured her, like a weight being lifted from her mind. There was nothing specific, nothing that needed real fixing - a properly guided meld fixed the imbalance on its own. But there isn't really a meld without sharing, so T'Pol sent her wordless apologies along that link, things she couldn't really say outside of a meld. It was delicately done, for fear of somehow hurting him, but when she broke the connection, he was Syndrome free. Lucky bastard only had it a few days.]
