Now, who did this? Who decided to put people in books?

Angel, don't tell me you sat on your ass for three days and have no idea. I'll put you on janitorial duty if this is the case.

And... I guess we owe some thanks to Bernard Black, was it? And some, but not as much because I think I'm still wet, to Shego. We're having at least two heart to hearts because of that stunt, missy.

[ooc: Since we haven't finished the action spam yet, going with a vague 'they walked through the forest and oh look there's Sam and Annie! And now they're walking again' plan. COOL? Any suggestions to the contrary?]

You already like me. [McCoy waves him off.] It's been a long time since I made food that wasn't from that damned replicator. [He comments, flopping back on Jim's desk chair and pulling out his PADD.]

"You made this?"

[Kirk arches an eyebrow at him, pointing the fork at the food, like that part wasn't already obvious. Then he smiles, offering the other fork to Bones.]

"It's good, thanks."

Of course I made it, I was a bachelor once you know. Need to know some simple recipes at least. [He says gruffly, glancing over at the offered fork and accepting it.]

You're welcome. [His lips quirk and he leans over to roll some pasta onto his fork.]

[Jim doesn't point out that putting him anywhere near a real stove is a disaster waiting to happen. He's a replicator child. He's not ashamed to admit that.

He hoists himself up to sit on the desk, eating in companionable silence for a few moments.]

"How's sickbay? Did it explode while you were away?"

[McCoy rests his elbow on the desk, glancing over when Jim breaks the silence.] Peter took care of it while Martha and I were in that little adventure. [He shakes his head, stabbing more pasta.] Besides handling Pavi's possible trauma and dealing with the possible fall out of that damned testing Libby and Martha are so keen on doing it looks like it'll be a quiet week.

"You probably shouldn't say that cause that's how people end up cursed."

You have any wood around I can knock on then?

"In my pants, yeah."

[Jim just smiles at him, a look that's supposed to be innocent and maybe would be if it was on any other face but his.]

"Do you realize what you're saying half the time?"

[McCoy gave him a withering look for that comment.] Infant. [He retorts, shaking his head.] Some people's minds don't have a twenty four-seven access to the gutter you know.

"Mmmn, we're gonna have to change that," [He replies with a smirk.] "When we're done eating, we're gonna have sex, right?"

[McCoy paused mid bite, covering his mouth as he coughed against choking on the piece of spaghetti he had managed to swallow just as Kirk spoke. It took him a few moments, putting his fork down with watering eyes and a slightly hoarse voice.] Damnit Jim.

[Kirk reaches over to thwap him on the back a couple times, unable to help the wide grin that's on his face.]

"Is that a yes? It sounded like a 'yes, damnit Jim'"

Anything would sound like a 'yes' to you. [McCoy answers, regaining his composure with a roll of the eyes.] You're really sure about this? Not that I plan on letting it happen but this sort of thing ruins friendships you know.

"So if you don't plan letting it get ruined and I don't plan on letting it get ruined.... what's there to think about again?" [He shrugs a little bit.] "Don't know until you try."

You always have to act like everything's so damned simple. [He stands up, moving in front of Kirk with an exasperated but ultimately affectionate look. Idiot.] It's not, I hate to break it to you. But I guess you have a point- I'll take all that for a yes, I'm sure.

"Bones, if you think that you're going to end up hating me, then yeah, maybe you should walk away. No hard feelings. I wouldn't hold that against you. But I honestly think that if I were ever going to try a grown up thing, then I'd want it to be with someone who got me, and you do, and it's kinda eerie sometimes but I still like it."

I said I wouldn't let that happen. [Bones sighs, placing a hand at the side of Kirk's jaw.] Shut up Jim. [He mutters, leaning forward and shutting him up himself.]

[Jim smiles into the kiss, curling an arm around McCoy's shoulder and pulling him in tight. He let it go on for a few minutes before he pulled back, eyeing the doctor curiously.]

"Be honest. Have you ever been with a guy?"

[McCoy flushes a bit at the question, covering it with a scowl.] I married Jocelyn straight out of college, I didn't exactly have a lot of time to experiment. [And even with the tolerant attitude of the future the 'old south' always remained a bit conservative where it could.]

[Kirk nods a little bit.] "Then I feel extra special." [He nudges Bones's shoulders lightly, hoping off the desk, and still pushing towards the bed.] "At least you're not a virgin."

Remember that bit about you shutting up? [He mutters but backs up, pulling Kirk along with him with a hand at his gold shirt.] I'll take that as you've had plenty of 'experimenting' to share.

"I get around." [Kirk says because it's rude to talk about past lovers with your current one. Or he's felt some of Bones's jealousy towards Spock and he has no intention of ever sleeping with Spock. It actually makes him throw up a little just to think about it.

So he doesn't think about it and pushes Bones down on the bed, climbing on top of him.] "It's not experimenting, by the way. It's experiencing life."

[McCoy ran a hand up Jim's side, huffing a laugh.] 'Experiencing life.' [He rolled his eyes, resting his hand on Jim's waist.] You can make anything sound like some damned adventure can't you?

"Dunno why that's a bad thing." [Kirk strips off his own shirt, tossing it off to the side before he reaches for McCoy's, pushing it up slowly.] "Adventure is fun last I checked."

Adventure is dangerous and- [he was muffled as he helped pull off his own shirt, taking Kirk's wrist once he was untangled and pulling him closer.] I get really sick of waiting on the sidelines for whatever new injury your 'adventures' give you. [He practically growls in his ear.]
