I guess I was asleep for a month.

And now I'm leaving. Things changed and I don't even really understand it but it worked out that I can, so I'm taking it and no one should be at all surprised. And maybe start a prayer chain that I never have a reason to come back because three and a half years and three Inmates is enough.

Maybe he wanted to offer you a friend because he did feel bad about leaving but anywhere near enough to stay.

He shrugged easily again. He wasn't going to lie, it was going to suck to not have Jim around, but this wasn't a place you wanted to stay in any longer than you absolutely had to, and it wasn't like he was going to ask him to stay. "Whatever you want to do."

Dick laughed a little, shaking his head. "I appreciate the offer, but you know I can't leave Gotham." Or the Barge, really, at least, not yet. "But I might drop by, if you don't mind me imposing."
