[He was over in five minutes. Because he actually did do that day's work before complaining about it.]

Good. Maybe she needed to think about this more - being mad at people until she ran out of the necessary energy to stay mad maybe wasn't the healthiest or most effective way of managing her anger. But for the time being? She was just tired and it wasn't as if she hadn't forgiven Kirk for being Kirk a long time ago.

She opened the door to let him in. "Hey."

Kirk was maybe expecting this to be a trick and to be hit with a green bolt of Shego rage the second she opened the door. So when that didn't happen, he relaxed a little.

"Hey."

Shego rage will be absent from this conversation for the foreseeable future. She stepped back to let him in, glancing over her shoulder.

"So did you talk to the Admiral?"

"Yeah." Kirk hesitated for a second before following her inside the room. "He called me his pet but gave me the deal. Even though I shouldn't need it in the first place."

"He called you - " She screwed up her face for a moment. "Well, whatever. At least he came through."

"He should've come through a month ago." Kirk was just never going to let that go.

"...I know. You want a drink? I figure I can leave you alone for two minutes since I fixed the security." She was probably joking but her tone was so dry it was hard to tell.

"I'm not really interested in the nanomites anyway," Kirk shot back at her in the same kind of tone. "I'd love a drink."

She poured two shots of vodka and brought them back into the living area, setting them both down on the coffee table before she dropped neatly onto the couch.

"So. Do we have to have the 'us' talk before we can get on with our lives?"

Kirk sat down next to her after a moment, swiping one of the shots. "Probably, yes."

"Okay." She picked up the other glass, stared at it hopelessly for a moment and then just threw back the whole thing because she needed the edge off ASAP for this conversation. "...okay. The whole - exclusive, boyfriend-girlfriend thing. Doesn't have a future, for us, so much. Right?"

Jim did the same thing because he didn't like talking about relationships any more than she did. And if he was being completely honest, he didn't think they'd ever had a real future in the first place because he was going back to Enterprise someday and she... probably wasn't. He'd never be able to give up the ship, he knew that.

"Right."

"Right." She drummed her fingertips on her knee. "So that just....stops. And you can do whatever with whoever."

"That is what happens when people break up, I think."

She pouted. "Hey, if there's a manual for how to do this right then go ahead and point it out to me. The last and only time I 'broke up' with somebody I totally wussed out and said we were on a break, remember?"

"I just got left here, so I'm not really an expert either," Kirk pointed out.

"Mmph." She stared at their empty glasses and wished she'd brought the bottle back out with her. "Nothing else has to change, right?"
