.072 - a hostile (not) takeover

[Much like when the Admiral makes an announcement, Kirk's voice permeates the entire Barge. Though unlike the Admiral, this voice is pretty easy to pin down. And it's glaringly obvious that it isn't the Admiral.]

Attention people of the Barge, this is Jim Kirk speaking. It's just two things so I'll be brief. The Admiral's not flying this thing right now and you people better start looking for your swimsuits.

[ooc: And this has started! By now Kirk has set their course for Risa. No going back now, suckers. He sealed the way behind him, just fyi]

I don't know. Get him out of there if I can, and just hope he doesn't do irreparable damage to the web of time if I can't.

A species so advanced, and you can't move through walls?

I believe the Admiral will stop him from doing irreparable harm to the multiverse at large.

I can easily move through walls. [With his TARDIS.] The problem is finding which walls to move through. The bridge is hidden. It's coordinates are quite probably kept intentionally out of phase with the rest of the ship.

Fascinating. How do you think he got there?

I'm not sure yet. I know there are various security gaps that have been exploited in the past. Perhaps he found another one.

Unfortunately for me, travelling to the bridge via TARDIS used to be a security gap, but the Admiral is aware of it and has since blocked it, thanks to the last Time Lord to take over the Barge.

Humans are resourceful. I'm sure if they are there to find, they will be found.

Yes. It's an unfortunate combination, being both resourceful and prone to recklessness.

I beg to differ; they would not be so amazingly capable if not for that combination.

And surviving through nearly impossible odds. And finding solutions where there were none. And creating answers when none they liked existed. And doing things they shouldn't be able to do.

You sound like the Doctor. [But for all his harumphing, Narvin's become rather fond of humans too. Most of the time.]

I admit, they can be daring and ingenious. But sometimes they lack the good sense with which to temper it.

A long time ago, the angels swore to love humanity as we did our Father. We lost sight of this. I'm glad to say I found that vision again.

In my universe, a long time ago the humans were just space dust that hadn't even formed into a planet much less developed life, while my race was fighting galactic battles against species who would destroy all civilizations but their own if given half a chance. The Racnoss, the Great Vampires...

And now the humans are one of the Temporal Powers, with time ships of their own. [Narvin used to not like this idea AT ALL. Now...he's rather all right with it. Humans make good allies.]

I am not in the least surprised that they've discovered such technology. I simply hope it's the good and not the bad using it.
