[Much like when the Admiral makes an announcement, Kirk's voice permeates the entire Barge. Though unlike the Admiral, this voice is pretty easy to pin down. And it's glaringly obvious that it isn't the Admiral.]

Attention people of the Barge, this is Jim Kirk speaking. It's just two things so I'll be brief. The Admiral's not flying this thing right now and you people better start looking for your swimsuits.

You're driving a multi-dimensional craft. You must have a direction and a course, if not an end-target. If not, you could hit anything. Tear space. Destroy lives before they're lived, or whole civilizations in their fledgling years. Supernova all the stars in entire universes at once. You could break time. You cannot "joyride" the barge.

This is not just a boat. You are not on a planet, where you could hit a rock or kill a shark. You are between universes, and if this craft is lead astray into a system with life, the collateral will be in the billions, as a conservative estimate.

I don't think you intend to hurt anyone. But I'm deeply concerned you will hurt many by accident.

I'm aware of that. And if you think about it, it's not that different from piloting a starship at warp speeds. I admit, I didn't go through the Academy to become a pilot or a navigator, I have two very good men who do that for me, but I know how to pilot a ship.

I have a destination. It's fine.
