[Kirk and Shego have the strangest conversations. And since he left in the middle of one, that is exactly where he's coming back, which is now gloriously broadcast to all.]

--ring dream that the Enterprise is being eaten by an octopus in space and for whatever reason, Tim is there and all he can say is 'that is so cool' like it's the realization of all his hopes and dreams. And I consider pushing him out of an airlock. Is that weird?

[Pausepause]

Shego?

Sheeeego?

It's rude to start ignoring me in the middle of a conversation, you know. We can start manners camp all over again.

"Oh." [Yes, yes it does. Ouch.]

"It's not like you meant to be gone for a month."

"It's Shego." [And that should explain everything too. But Kirk's tired of standing now so he gestures for Dick to come in as he half hobbles back to his desk chair.]

[Dick just snickers, and hey, not so fast, bro. Dick follows him in, but pulls him into a quick bro hug before clapping him on the shoulder.] "Well, the rest of us are glad to have you back."

[Hugs! Kirk is more grateful for the hug then he lets on. He even manages to give a smile and a return shoulder clap before easing into his chair.]

Glad to hear it. I don't think I can take anymore abuse.

"I think that's fair." [Because dayum, what a welcome back. :|]

"So. You missed a lot." [A beat. And then jokingly:] "None of it stuff I'd be too bummed out about missing, of course."

"I'm never bummed about missing things here. But you might as well tell me anyway."

"Well, there was a day where the network was accessible to people not on the Barge, which was somewhere between hilarious and traumatic. We stopped in port at a deserted island with literally nothing to do but sit on a beach and wish there was a resort near by - not even Dinosaurs or smoke monsters or anything, just normal animals."

[He stops for a second to try and come up with how to explain the rest of it.] "About a week ago, there was a flood. People were age regressed with no memory retension pretty much at random - I was like, seventeen, but other people weren't teenagers or anything - and after that... Something weird happened. A person or alien or whatever, we're not really sure because no one can remember exactly what happened, showed up and like... changed us all. Everyone was acting differently, and when people started realizing what was going on, people started losing memories."

[And another pause, because it's like trying to explain a dream you don't really remember. And it does not involve space octopi. :c] "I don't really remember what happened, but Laura Palmer basically kicked whatever it was off the ship and everything just went back to normal. It was pretty messed up."

[Kirk just frowned slightly when Dick tried to explain it and while he was pretty sure he still wasn't completely understanding it, he believed that it messed people up.]

"Sounds like a rather dangerous alien if you can't remember it."

[Dick nodded, expression becoming a little more pensive.]

"Yeah, but not physically dangerous, I don't think. I mean, it was clearly hostile, or it wouldn't have started erasing stuff, but it wasn't directly physically aggressive. It manipulated people into working for it."

"Manipulative people are the most dangerous kind of people." [Small silence.] "Are you gonna be okay?"

[Surprised silence.] "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be okay?"

[Don't buy it, Kirk. His trying to make this a joke is really it really sucked and I'm not dealing with it. >>]

"Because you got manipulated and you don't remember it and it makes you feel superawkward and uncomfortable and little bit like you wish you had disappeared for a month instead?"

[He lets out a short, sort of sad laugh.] "More or less. April was a good month to miss."

"Next time we'll trade. I'll get traumatized and you can just blink out of existence."

"Are you going to be okay?"

[Have your own bitter, sad smile.] "No. Cause I can't stop wondering where the hell I was."

"Well, at least you're back now, right?" [Excuse Mr. Brightside here.]

"Yeah, I guess. You're annoyingly cheerful sometimes."

"It's part of my charm." [Meaning, it keeps me sane. :|]

"Have you ever actually met any octopi in space?"

"Nah, I'm fairly certain they aren't real."

"Maybe you've been watching too many scifi movies."

"And mine's a comic book, with terrible movie adaptations. And a TV Show that's just a little too campy for anyone's tastes."

"Are we really doing this? Because my whole life is actually a redone version of someone else's. And I've met him."
