[Alright so, the idea of giving Shego space because she pretty much said to him that she hated who he was now, kind of backfired. Alright, so it really backfired because giving her space more or less translated into ignoring her and Jim felt pretty guilty for that. So even though it made him borderline uncomfortable-- he knew he was keeping himself at a distance from just about everyone. That wasn't something he even tried to deny--he was just going to give Shego as much attention as possible this weekend.

By basically kidnapping her and sequestering her in his quarters.

This was going to be a long weekend.]

"So. Wanna make a costume or something?"

"Screw you, it's my turn. Also? We agreed no questions you already know the answer to." She sat back, crossing her legs. "Never have I ever..."

Meh. She wanted a drink already, so she threw him a 90% certainty.

"...gotten on with my family."

Jim stared at her for a long moment, pretty sure that she had at least liked one of her brothers for even half a second before he sighed, decided to let that one go and take another shot. It'd been more than twenty years but he was a big fan of his brother when he was really little.

Shego hadn't disliked them. Sometimes. But she didn't remember having a civil conversation with any of them either. And at Kirk's challenge, she lifted an eyebrow.

"Neither have I, but I'm gonna spare you that one if you're just making a point."

"It's way more fun when you're just trying to make people get drunk," Kirk agreed, starting to feel those four shots in like fifteen minutes he'd had now. And yeah, he really missed this feeling sometimes.

"I already know a lot about you, Shego. There's not a lot ask you."

"Yes, please, continue shoving that fact down my throat. Sometimes I forget you know my entire life history." She poured herself a generous shot but just sipped at it.

"Then start asking questions and we'll level the field a little bit."

"Whatever, I thought your whole life was just a plot by ~the Universe~ to get you in as Captain of the Enterprise?"

"It seems that way sometimes," Kirk answered with a little bit of a smirk. It really wasn't that he hated his job, he just wondered how much of a choice he really got in it and for a control freak that was somewhat irritating.

"Of course now I'm here, so fuck the Universe for a while."

"Uh huh." She finished her shot and poured another one.

"You said we couldn't get anywhere until I trust you again," she said, wrenching the subject off down a different route. "So when that happens - if that happens. What then?"

Jim considered that for a few seconds. "I just want you to be at your best and not settle for stuff just because it's easier. But I don't think I can help you at all if you don't trust me to guide you in the right direction."

"By that logic I could just go and try to take over the world by myself. I mean - " She recklessly finished off the second shot in as many minutes. " - that'd be a heck of a lot tougher than anything else I used to do."

"I said your best, not your best evil," Jim said softly. "I don't let my crew settle for less than what they're capable of. You aren't exempted from that."

"Then so what if the best I'm capable of is my best evil? I'm better at being bad than I ever was at being good."

"I don't believe that," Kirk answered. "I'll grant you that a lot of the time, good and evil are completely relative but I don't think you're a bad person. You don't even come close to it."

She gave a one-shouldered shrug. "Not compared to the bundles of fun around here, no. I've made my peace with being pretty much a Girl Scout by Barge standards." She hesitated briefly, then poured herself another drink.

"Even without Barge standards, you think you're a lot worse than you really are," Jim stole the bottle for himself, just to have something to sip on.

"I do not. Maybe you just think I'm better than I really am."

"Yeah, it's kind of my job to think that," Kirk commented dryly. "Why's it make you so mad to be called good?"

"Because I'm not. Duh. I swiped top-secret tech, I kidnapped scientists, I stole millions of dollars, I was wanted in eleven countries - oh, and I took over the world that one time." Yeah, technically it had never happened but as far as she was concerned it was in her file so it counted. "I never felt bad about doing my job, I never felt guilty about hurting anybody, and if I could have my time over I'd do it all the same except I'd have taken the direct approach with Possible. So don't tell me I'm a fluffy kitten on the inside."

"I don't really care that much about what you've done because God knows, I'm no saint either. It's only the reasons I care about and that's why you have to trust me. Because you need to trust me to tell you the truth and to help you out. Or else nothing is ever going to change."

She threw back her fourth shot in one go and shuddered as it went down.

"...I trust you. I just don't agree with you."

Kirk pushed the bottle of liquor off to the side just a little bit, further out of her reach than it was before, just because that quick succession of shots worried him when it came to her.

"You don't have to right now."

Shego blinked a few times. Her alcohol tolerance worked in such a way that she could keep drinking comfortably up to a point and not really feel it - and then she would abruptly realise she was actually pretty tipsy.

"I don't have to trust you or I don't have to agree with you?
