[Alright so, the idea of giving Shego space because she pretty much said to him that she hated who he was now, kind of backfired. Alright, so it really backfired because giving her space more or less translated into ignoring her and Jim felt pretty guilty for that. So even though it made him borderline uncomfortable-- he knew he was keeping himself at a distance from just about everyone. That wasn't something he even tried to deny--he was just going to give Shego as much attention as possible this weekend.

By basically kidnapping her and sequestering her in his quarters.

This was going to be a long weekend.]

"So. Wanna make a costume or something?"

She threw back her fourth shot in one go and shuddered as it went down.

"...I trust you. I just don't agree with you."

Kirk pushed the bottle of liquor off to the side just a little bit, further out of her reach than it was before, just because that quick succession of shots worried him when it came to her.

"You don't have to right now."

Shego blinked a few times. Her alcohol tolerance worked in such a way that she could keep drinking comfortably up to a point and not really feel it - and then she would abruptly realise she was actually pretty tipsy.

"I don't have to trust you or I don't have to agree with you?

"Agree with me. That's nothing new."

"Well obviously. I'll start agreeing with you when you stop being wrong all the time."

"That's completely relative." Kirk gave her a cheery smile for that. "This is progress, it deserves a toast."

She pulled a face at him. "This is so not progress." But she stole the bottle back and poured herself another shot anyway.

"Oh shut up and drink." It seemed fitting that the first time Kirk had let himself get intoxicated on his second tenure on the Barge was while also dragging Shego down with him. Like the good old days.

Kirk took his shot like a pro, exhaling softly. "Were we talking about anything else?"

She sipped at her whiskey, feeling vaguely maudlin. "I don't remember."

"Me either." Jim fiddled with his glass for a moment before making the probably wise decision to put it off to the side. "I like hanging out with you."

Shego finished off what was probably her fifth shot and then decided it was best to stop for a while.

"I don't like hanging out with you." She paused. "But I don't like it less when you're not being all lame. Like now. Now you're okay."

Jim laughed. "Hell's freezing over right now. I'm growing up and maturing and all that crap." Learning to control his vices instead of relying on them. Trying to be an authority figure. "Shit, I can't remember the last time I had this much and this isn't even a lot."

Shego snorted unattractively. "I used to never ever drink ever. Dunno how much more mature it made me."

The snort that she made was way funnier and way more interesting than what she said and that had Kirk nearly doubled over with laughter.

Which made it necessary for Shego to elbow him pretty hard in the ribs. "Shut up."

Kirk made a sound a lot like a yelp (though he'd deny it later) when she elbowed him and kept laughing for a few minutes. "Oh relax. I'm not laughing out of spite."
