Kirk didn't believe for more than a few passing moments that Shego was involved in the game that the Inmates were playing. She really hadn't given him the impression that she was all for killing just for the sake of killing but it didn't hurt to check. And just check up on her in general.

He went to the Infirmary first instead of her room, banking on a hunch that she was spending a lot of time in there after the recent six murders, since that was her job on Security.

And look at that, he was right. "Shego," he called, gesturing her over to where he was, somewhere close to the door.

"Yeah, I'm annoyingly good at keeping myself alive, despite best efforts," Kirk agreed, rolling his eyes a little bit. He glanced around the infirmary a couple times, mentally noting everyone that was in there at the moment and where they were, if only for his own reference. Because he did annoying things like that too.

"How's it going in here?"

"Same old. Captain 'Let's Make Grand Announcements Without Any Backup' Adams checked herself out a little while ago," which Shego had noticed but not tried to prevent because she didn't really care. "Nobody's tried to sneak in and put anybody outta their misery."

"Oh well, that's good," Kirk nodded a little bit, though he wasn't at all worried to hear that Morgan had checked herself out. The woman probably needed to go off on her own given all the ranting she was prone to lately.

"You need any food or water or forms of entertainment?"

"You wanna talk entertainment? Somebody posted up a video of Shinzon's head bouncing around without the benefit of an attached body," Shego said bluntly, not adding that it was the grossest real thing she'd ever seen and it was going to stick with her for a while. "Sooo, I don't think I'm gonna want to eat for a little bit. Got water here. Otherwise I'm all good. Has anybody else died in the last couple hours?"

To his credit, Kirk didn't really show his disgust at the idea of seeing a video of Shinzon's dead body, beyond a small frown. "Not that I know of," he answered, just... leaving that video thing alone.

"Just reassure me you weren't a part of the game."

"What. No. I don't kill people, you know I don't kill people, and I'm sure as heck not gonna start killing people just because some jerk wizard says it might be fun. Really, I'm a little bit offended that you even had to ask."

Honestly, Kirk didn't care if she was offended because he was too busy being proud of her.

"You're really selling me on this villain thing," Kirk quipped, slapping her on the shoulder, because that was pretty much how he showed affection and pride and most of his other happy emotions.

"Don't start helping old people cross the street. Then I won't know what to think."

"Sometimes I think you want me to start killing people so you'll have more work to do," she grouched, shrugging off his hand. "But it probably wouldn't make you any less irritating."

"Probably more irritating actually. Since I'd just stun you every time you misbehaved," Jim said, making a "gun" with his fingers and pretending to shoot her with it.

"Yeah, yeah."

Shego leaned against the wall, staring blankly back into the Infirmary. She still didn't really feel like she was over the last flood, and the last couple days seemed to add yet more weight to the idea of bolting herself back in her room and never coming out. Maybe take some food next time so she wouldn't starve herself out. Tempting, really tempting.

"I'd ask if cabin fever back on the Enterprise ever got this bad, but I guess your ship-slash-girlfriend was short on violent psychotics."

"Well. Starfleet does try to weed out the violent and psychotic people, since being trapped on a Starship for five years more or less, tends to make stuff like that worse," Kirk said. And you know, his crew were just better trained to deal with stuff. They wouldn't be bickering between themselves. He or Spock would've issued commands they would've been followed to the letter.

"Why? You thinking about accepting my offer?"

"Not so much, I just wanna think about somewhere that's not here for a little while. If things haven't calmed down by tomorrow I am going to haul someone over the side and make this thing land."

"I'll help," Kirk muttered, rolling his eyes a little bit. "I can talk your ear off about Iowa. It's incredibly boring and stable."
