Oh, what's the matter? You're stuck here and I have a special place in my heart for people without feelings. I'd say that we're a better fit then your last warden ever was.
Wow. Other then the fact that he didn't want to be here at all. You know I was just made captain of the Enterprise which is probably the greatest starship that the Federation has produced and I still want to be here.
How good was he really if he just left you behind?
You can tell yourself that if it helps you sleep at night. Doesn't change the fact that I've got your file and will sock you if you keep being a little bitch about this.
[Jim has already left his room, moving down the hallway like he's on a mission. Which he kind of is. He hasn't decided what he's going to do to Prefect, probably punch him because he ends up punching every one sooner or later. This is just getting ridiculous. Jim is his warden now. Prefect has to listen to him.]
"Prefect!" [he barks as he pushes his way into the other man's room. The door doesn't slid open, he has to push it open himself but it's a small price to pay.]
"Good. You're here. I like that you listen when it's important."
Pthh, not this one! Opening his own door like a loser!
[Prefect looks up with an expression of slight surprise, his boxes have slowly crept back into their original formation of just being stacked around the room in fairly even piles. It's all fairly neat, aside from the mounting pile of empty gin bottles tucked under Prefects desk.
Prefect stands abruptly and takes two quick steps away from Kirk. Obviously not pleased with the interruption.]
I didn't stay here because you told me too, I stayed here because it's my cabin!
[Jim gives it a once over and then nods like he approves of it, like it really matters if he approves of the mountains of boxes or not. Honestly, he thinks it's a little weird but not the most annoying thing about his new Inmate.]
"Let me get this straight. You don't need a new warden because your old one was so good that his wisdom is still lingering around here? Do you know how insane that sounds?"
[Prefect is edging to the side carefully, waiting for this strange, bossy man to come far enough into the room for him to make a break for it. He frowns a little suspiciously, still edging away.]
I don't need a new Warden because my last one was the best I could have had, so there's nothing that you could do that could improve on that.
[Jim tips head head to the side a little bit, giving Prefect a look that says he wonders if Prefect was dropped on his head as a child. Several times and from great heights.
He steps a little closer.]
"I don't want you to take this the wrong way but you will anyway, so I'll just say it. It doesn't look like Sam did shit for you."
[Prefect does not like that Kirk is moving closer too him. He peers over the Wardens shoulder, weighing up his chances of getting out the door without being intercepted. Then Kirk speaks, and Prefect is suddenly looking at the other man with an expression that borders on a glare. He holds it for a beat, then forces it away, letting his expression go neutral once again.]
He did a lot for me, he did everything he could. I just...
[He hesitates for a second, then continues]
...I'm just not meant to change as much as this place wants me too.
[Jim scoffs, shaking his head a little bit.] "So you're content to waste the rest of your life here because you're too busy licking your wounds to give anyone else a shot?" [He asks it like a challenge, like he's trying to bait Prefect into showing some real emotion.] "There's a dream. I'm real impressed by it."
[His voice is pure sarcasm. He's not impressed at all.]
And... Kirk is just mean.
Kirk IS mean :c
Sam... Other than not wanting to be here, Sam was a very good Warden for me.
Prefect made him this way :c Also, he's sort of lying.
How good was he really if he just left you behind?
1/2 - And BAM. You just upset him.
2/2
He... I was never lucky, and I make things difficult, and he stuck with me.
I mean, he stuck with me until now.

Look, chances are this guy isn't coming back. It sucks but so what? Are you the only person to ever lose their warden?
no subject
Only person to ever lose a good one.No, other people have left before. I understand why he's gone, and I'm okay with it. He didn't want to be here, and that's fine.
But you're still not really my Warden, Comrade.

He just... went home, that's all.

He doesn't actually think you're going to come and punch him.
In my cabin.
He might just like... threaten you.
405, it'll probably be on the file?
You think he read the file before right now?
Don't leave your room and that's an order.
Pinned to the top of the file. So a quick glance would be forthcoming, CAPTAIN LAZY!
[Fortunately he has nowhere else to go right now, so he doesn't.]
Glancing is for minions. Captains sit in their chair and lord over you
"Prefect!" [he barks as he pushes his way into the other man's room. The door doesn't slid open, he has to push it open himself but it's a small price to pay.]

Prefect stands abruptly and takes two quick steps away from Kirk. Obviously not pleased with the interruption.]
I didn't stay here because you told me too, I stayed here because it's my cabin!
Come over here and say that, you wuss!
HELL NO :CCC
I don't need a new Warden because my last one was the best I could have had, so there's nothing that you could do that could improve on that.
[Still edging away.]
PUSSY! No wonder Sam left you
He steps a little closer.]
"I don't want you to take this the wrong way but you will anyway, so I'll just say it. It doesn't look like Sam did shit for you."
:c
He did a lot for me, he did everything he could. I just...

no subject
Not anyone else, Comrade. Anyone at all. It's not that no Warden can do it, it's that I can't do it.
[He gives a half shrug, calmly deciding that the next time Kirk steps forward or turns even slightly away he's going to make a break for it.]
