Imagine my everlasting shame when it was brought to my attention that you haven't had your physical yet. A man of your age and experience should know that they are vital to a man's health.

You need to report to the Infirmary. Right now. Or else I'm going to be forced to take drastic measures.

[Jim gave him a quirked smile for a few moment that lacked any humor.]

"That's part of my charm." [He sighs.] "You don't get to tell me that you hate that I sleep around but you don't expect me to even want to be monogamous and still expect me to take that lying down."

Jim, have you ever been in a relationship before? And screwing around with Gaila doesn't count.

[Jim didn't answer that. Just... gave Bones a look instead and let that be his answer.]

[Figures.] And you really think- [No, it was hopeless. Kirk saw the gauntlet thrown and now there they were. It took a great deal of effort not to roll his eyes.] Sometimes I forget what a kid you are. [There was fondness amongst the exasperation at least, probably a tone only Kirk could pick up.]

"'m not a kid, old man." [Kirk mumbled, nudging his fist against the doctor's shoulder.]

Yeah you are. You're an oversexed, stubborn kid who just happens to be a damned genius to top it all off. [He took the fist Kirk nudged him with.]

[Kirk frowned at him for that.] "Does talking to people like that really work to get you laid?"

People appreciate honesty. [He answered, brow quirked.]

[Kirk wrinkled his nose and pursed his lips.] "Funny. In my oversexed experience, people like compliments better."

I called you a genius didn't I? Besides, it must work. You're here now aren't you?

"You're lucky to have found me." [Kirk announced, sliding his hand along the doctor's shoulder.] "Now give me a compliment to win back my affections."

[McCoy scoffed, stepping just that bit closer.] Yeah kid, I guess I am. [He said, his 'compliment' and the truth of the matter.]

[Jim caught it as a compliment but he was tired of the serious conversation. So he gave him a coy smile and a little bit of a pout.] "Close. Try saying something about my eyes."

[McCoy rolled his eyes, letting his hand rest against the side of Kirk's neck.] The space radiation gave them a nice touch.

[Kirk laughed softly.] "'The space radiation gave them a nice touch.'" [He mocked, complete with that terrible Southern accent.] "I thought I told you that I didn't want a Vulcan."

[McCoy's lips quirked at that.] Didn't say you wanted a poet either. [He countered.] Should have known you'd expect praise for your damned ridiculous eyes. Never seen a color like that, even in space births. You know for the first year I was half convinced you used some kind of eye shadow or something equally strange to get that color.

"Nah, my baby blues are all natural, honey. Kirks are just lucky that way." [Kirk practically beamed at him.] "I like your eyes. Normally hazel is a very ugly color but they're not always like that. Sometimes they're all green or just all brown or even red with the insane urge to kill me."

Your older self didn't get that luck. [He comments, because it's true and god knew it sounded like an insult to the other man enough Kirk might actually be pleased with it. Lord he was getting soft.]

[He snorted in amusement at Kirk's assessment, head to the side.] Careful Jim, you're making me blush. [He said dryly.] Are you appeased with how lucky a bastard I am yet or do I need to write you a god damned sonnet?

"I've never had a sonnet written about me before." [Jim mused with an interested eyebrow.] "Is it going to rhyme? I feel like it should rhyme."

[McCoy huffed at that, tugging the hem of Kirk's shirt.] You'll see, now won't you? Come on, if I'm going to go to sleep might as well tire us both out beforehand.

"There's that Southern charm," [Kirk teased as he slipped out of his shirt and moved to remove McCoy's as well.] "Service me now so I can rest peacefully."

Service you huh? [McCoy said in a true drawl thank you very much. He held up his arms to help get his shirt off, pulling Kirk to the bed by his wrist once it was shed.] Well I'll see what we can do about that. [He pushed Kirk back onto the bed, brow raised.]

[Jim smirks in response to that, stretching out on the bed, and letting his legs fall open.] "C'mon, Bones. Show me some of those mad doctor skills."

I don't know what's worse- [He leaned over Jim, one between his legs as he balanced himself with either arm braced beside Jim's shoulders.] - your fake accents of the fact you use terms like 'mad doctor skills.' [He pressed his lips against Kirk's, making sure to steal whatever snarky remark the man was going to use against him right out of his mouth. He moved a hand, trailing it up Jim's side as if categorizing the muscles and ghosts of injuries Kirk had gathered over the years, the injuries he closed with his own two hands and helped vanish.]

[Kirk latched on to him when he got close enough, digging his fingers into the doctor's hair and hooking one of his legs around the back of Bones's knee. That kiss didn't completely stop the retort he had in store for him, just delayed it until Jim pulled back to drag oxygen back into his lungs.]

"A captain must be able to adapt to any situation." [A statement he punctuated with licking a trail up the side of McCoy's neck.]
