[Much like when the Admiral makes his announcements, the voice of one James T. Kirk floods the hallways and rooms of the Barge and he sounds oh so very pleased with himself.]

Attention people of the Barge.

We've had ourselves a little adventure recently and I won't bore you with the details because it's a long though at times, riveting tale. So I'll just cut to the chase: our dear Admiral isn't running this thing anymore.

James T. Kirk for those of you haven't had the pleasure. Along with Captain Harkness and Captain Solo who is taking control of the helm.

If you don't mind my asking, why did you take over the ship?

Where I come from, I'm the captain of the Federation's flagship. I'm good at my job. Damn good at it actually. And after the ride that we've had recently, I think everyone here could use a vacation.

Is that a crime? Does that make me a bad person?

So you dislike the Admiral? You feel he handles the ship poorly?

I've never met the man. I hardly dislike anyone that I've never met. I just am less than impressed by his piloting and how he runs this place.

Ah. You feel you can do better, is that it?

Yeah, honestly I do. The utter lack of faith around here isn't going to deter me either, if that's what you're thinking. Back home, I'm up against an entire board of Admirals and probably half of the Federation that thinks I'm too young to have my post. I was determined to prove them and I'll do it again.

Do you expect us to go into battle, sir? It seems that your job would consist of, well, sitting in a chair steering, if you were to take permanent command of the ship. Sounds rather boring, if you ask me.

Nope, no battles.

It's kind of something you have to experience. Being in command. It's very hard to describe.

So this is to feel in control again?

Are you implying that I would commandeer a magical prison ship to appease some neurotic control freak impulse?

No. That's completely insane.

I see. So it was a humanitarian effort? You wished to free us all from the clutches of an incompetent leader?

How long have you been here?

A few days, actually.

Talk to me after almost three months here, three floods, two Inmates, one Inmate riot, all of the Wardens fighting with each other like overgrown children and you tell me there isn't a need for change.

And you're the man for the job, eh? You're going to turn this place inside out and reform it?

So tell me true, Mr. Kirk. This was a purely selfless endeavor?

Well I did think a little shoreleave was in order for everyone. Do you have something against vacations?

Not especially. As long as there's free grub.

So you did this to help us all, with the added bonus of a vacation and being in charge while having said vacation? Am I getting warmer?

Yeah, I'd say so.

Why are you asking me all these questions? Who are you anyway?
