captain_jtkirk: (stop following me around Bones)

.057 - lol actual back :c

[Kirk could honestly say that he'd never returned in the middle of a breach or flood or whatever before. So that was weird. And it was even weirder to not realize he was back until after it all ended, and he was in his quarters, feeling like someone had punched his heart out and then hit him in the head with a hammer at the same time. He knew it wasn't Enterprise. He couldn't hear the hum of her engines and that always gave it away.

He was back on the Barge. And he couldn't say that he fully remembered why.

Jim forced himself to his feet, fighting against the wave of nausea and dizziness that came with it and left his room, wandering for a bit before he found himself in front of Dick's door. Not Bones because he'd worry and yell and it'd be weird with Shego and well. Here he was.

He reached up and knocked lightly, not even sure if Dick was there.]

[Video--several hours post flood and chat with Dick]

I'm back.

"Irrelevantly, yes, you did. Why. Are. You. Back?"

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I just am." [If he doesn't have to admit it, then it's not happening.]

He didn't answer right away, because it sure as hell felt like he was death tolling or something like it but he couldn't say that he really remembered what caused it.

"I don't know."

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
She frowned, anger not diffused but maybe...deflected, slightly.

"How can you not know? I was pretty sure I shouldn't have walked away from what got me my ticket here to start with. What happened right before you came back here?"

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I'm pretty sure that I'm still a Warden so maybe that's different."

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
She stood up, taking a couple of steps toward him. "I'm finding it really hard to believe that your death isn't something the Admiral would have made sure you knew about either way, Kirk."

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then I probably didn't die, Shego." Not admitting it ever.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh huh. What makes me think you're not gonna be taking any of those little trips back to the Enterprise any time soon?"

She paused, looking everywhere except at him.

"Look. If you died, or if you were about to die, or - I don't know what happened - then I'm sorry. I really am. Being trapped here sucks. If you didn't, then clearly you're psychiatrically unwell if you're coming back for a third round out of choice. Clearly you're not gonna talk about it either way, so, whatever."

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Jim didn't respond right away. Just stared at the ground for a couple moments before looking up at her.

"You didn't say goodbye."

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
She didn't say anything for a moment, because - well - that had been kind of an indefensible dick move on her part. She was still trying to be 'better' in some ways but all bets were off when Kirk was involved.

"I didn't - " There was no good way to end that sentence. She ploughed on anyway. "I didn't think you'd care."

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Jim stared at her for a good long minute because of that. "Seriously? We spent over two years together and you still don't think I care?"

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"I didn't think you'd care about whether or not I said goodbye. You didn't seem to give much of a damn either way when you left the Barge."

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"You made it pretty damn clear then that you didn't want to see me. So I respected that. But you left in the middle of the night on Enterprise."

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? If you hate that I did it - I'm sorry. I figured I was doing us both a favor."

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well you didn't. So thanks. And you don't get any right to yell at me for leaving again."

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
She glowered, shifting closer so they were almost toe to toe. "If I thought you could leave any time soon I might care about that."

Jim glared back at her. "You're being a bitch again and my head hurts. I don't really feel like having this fight right now."
