[Kirk's a pretty smart kid. He's figured out by the posts that he isn't in Iowa and while this looks like a spaceship, there's a solid chance his mom isn't on it. Cause she never is :c So forget asking for her.]

They have action figures of your dad too, but they made one of you as well because of all the cool stuff you do. That's all I'm trying to say here.

I don't do cool stuff. Sam says I'm a loser cause I like school.

Yeah, well, you're gonna grow up and do cool stuff, and you get to do it because you're smart, and part of the reason you're smart in the future is that you like school now. You see how that works?

[Childcare is...not actually one of Shego's pet hates. She hates kids, but that's kids plural; one or two at a time she can deal with, and she actually enjoyed tutoring to bulk up her college fund. Since Kirk seems to be at an unexpected 'depressive nerd' stage of his childhood and not the later 'driving things off cliffs' stage she can't foresee any major problems.

She taps on the door as a warning before opening it, and happily nothing has been destroyed that she can see.]

Hey, Jim.

"Hi." Kirk stares at her for a moment before, "Are you Orion? My mom says you should never trust an Orion cause they'll sell you before you can blink."

But clearly sleeping with them was fine.

"I'm human. I had an accident when I was a little bit older than you and it turned me green." She whistled. "Aristotle, let's go."

Jimmy took a moment to process this. "Cool!" He declared as he bounded over to her with the dog. Aristotle seemed to have gotten over the strange appearance of the child in place of his actual master and so he was no longer barking and he let Jimmy hang on him.

"Can I be green too?"

"Nope, sorry. It was one of those one-time-only freak events." She ushered them both out of the room and shut the door. They could go to the CES, hopefully none of the kids had realised how their Items worked. "Anyway, people'll just be mistaking you for Orion forever."

"I'd rather be Orion than the Kelvin baby all the time," Jimmy replied in that sad, honest way that kids do sometimes."Even if Orions sell people."

"You can't do anything about how you were born, sport. That's why you need to do cool stuff. Build up your own reputation."

What is this peptalk? Jimmy frowns at her a little. "Why do you want me to do stuff when I'm older so badly? I'm seven. There's not anything I can do now."

"Hey, I already know you do stuff when you're older. What you can do now is not settle for the idea that liking school dooms you to a life of loserdom."

"I don't mind. Sam's a dummy sometimes." Like when he kept fighting with Frank when clearly it was easier to put your head and wait for Mom to come back. "I think he's mad that I'm smarter than him."

"Yeah, a lot of people get mad if you're smart," she said mildly. She opened the door to the above-deck area and guided him and Aristotle into the CES.

So this CES thing? Was the coolest thing that Jimmy had ever seen in his short life. Mostly because he'd never seen a forest before. Another reason why Iowa sucked.

"Wow! Do all starships have trees on them in the future?"

"No, I think this one's special." Or, you know, they weren't technically on a starship, but clearly she wasn't going to persuade him of that. Shego closed the door behind them and relaxed marginally. "You've seen forests before, right?"

Maybe not.

Starships are cool okay. Don't ruin the dream.

Jimmy looked up at her and gave her a look, one very reminiscent of the ones he would give her later, like he thought she was crazy and he was judging her for it. "You know what Iowa looks like right?"

"Yeah, that's how I know it's got these things called 'roads' that go to other places. I didn't know you'd spent every second of your life there." Besides the unknown period of time he'd spent in space, obviously. "But hey, now I've learned something new."

"Mom doesn't take us with her." And it was really that simple. "And I was born in space okay."

"Okay." The 'your mom is kind of a douche' observation went unstated. She regarded him silently for a moment. Something he'd like doing that might wear him out a bit. Hm.

"D'you know how to climb properly yet?"

Same look, slightly different variation.

"What do you mean by climb properly?"
