.071 - he missed you guys (lol no he didn't)

I'm back. Any disasters--actually, lie to me if there was. I don't need to know.

If you're new here, then welcome. I'm Captain James T. Kirk and you're probably going to hate it here in a few months.

[Private to Shego]

You're graduating. This isn't negotiable anymore.

[ooc; I found a few free hours, so.. here you go, TLV. Have space captain back. Also I'm back from my hiatus c: mostly.]

"And you don't stubbornly refuse to listen to anything I say out of pure spite because I'm in charge of you?" Kirk retorts. Because this sure as hell isn't his fault. Well, it probably is but personal responsibility. It doesn't like failure.

He turns away from her slightly and opens the door and gestures for her to go first. "Why were you snotty with Uhura?"

"Snotty? I wasn't," she says bluntly, stepping through the door. "She said you were coming back, I disagreed, that was it. It's the one conversation she and I had the whole time you were gone."

"She said you were being snotty and she wouldn't say that without a reason. So what did you say to her?"

"Nothing special - look, I don't even remember what I said, it was so unremarkable. Maybe she was just feeling oversensitive that day."

Kirk sighs deeply at her. "Or you were being your usual self and being a brat to her for no reason except that she was nice to you."

She rolls her eyes right back at him. "Yeah, maybe, but why would I remember an instance of being my usual self? If she wanted to be nice then maybe she should've considered leaving me alone."

"I asked her to look after you." Kirk eyes her for a moment before he starts heading off deeper into the CES, looking for a rock face to start climbing.

"Why did you want to be left alone then?"

"Well, she didn't. We had one brief conversation pretty much the second you left, and that was it until you came back. Unless she bugged my cabin, that was all the 'looking after' I got."

She trudged after him, glowing at his turned back.

"Why do you think I wanted to be left alone?"

Kirk didn't really expect Uhura to badger Shego all week. So he chose not to comment about that. He would've ignored her too if she was going to be a brat for no reason.

"I have no idea. Why don't you tell me?"

Her voice turned dark again. "Whatever. Let's just find a rock big enough for you to kill yourself from."

"I might be the last person you have to pissy about him leaving with," Kirk commented without even really looking at her as he looked around for a decent rock face. He found one a minute later and moved off towards it without even waiting for her.

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"

She reached the rock face, glared at it for a second, then found a handhold and started ascending. Oddly enough, years as a professional thief plus having lived in a series of mountain lairs prone to exploding had conferred a decent amount of skill in this area.

"No."

Yeah, Kirk didn't really have a lot of rock climbing experience. He had experience hanging off of things and scrambling to safety but technically the only thing he'd climbed had been the icy wall of the pit his escape pod had created on Delta Vega.

He lets her get a headstart before he starts up after her.

"Then why'd you bother saying it?"

Desperately unamused, she waited for him to catch up before once again progressing up the cliff face. Judging by observation, this was something she could do faster and better than he could, and she'd be damned if her superiority was tarnished by lame things like headstarts.

"Because I like the sound of my own voice."

Jim had noticed how she was better at this then he was. It surprised him a little bit, in that he didn't realize she knew how to rock climb at all. And stuff like that should be in her file. He found a decent foot and hand hold and paused for a break, while he tried to find the next one.

"That's a given."

Shego wondered about the possibility of moving above him, getting a good handhold and them stamping on his fingers - the fall wouldn't kill him, but they were approaching a height where it would break both his legs. If she lifted his communicator and/or Item and left him there, it would probably be a good few days before anybody -

No, he'd probably just drag himself out by the tips of his broken hands and then resume being a jerk. Tempting but ultimately not worth it. She grit her teeth and continued climbing. It was actually sort of restful when the cliff wasn't falling to pieces or raining down rubble from above.
