[Private to Spock and Uhura.]

Nero's here.

[Private to the Level Zero Guard Gang, so... Kahlan, Richard, Angelica, Lara and whoever else is doing it. And I suppose Angel can see it too.]

There's a new Inmate in 0 right now. He doesn't have a Warden yet. His name is Nero. He's extremely dangerous and I'd suggest simply not talking to him at all if you can help it.

"It's Spock. He generally doesn't attack people unless it's me, so we should be fine there." [He eyed the glass of eggnog with a small frown.] "I wasn't kidding about that rum."

And what were you doing? Harassing him about his mother. Imagine if you killed her.

[McCoy leaned against the desk, holding the glass out to him.] And I didn't give you placebos when I gave you those painkillers. No rum.

"Harassing him right after she died. I would've tried to kill me too." [Jim pointed out, still eyeing that glass but making no move to grab it.]

"I'm feeling a lot better. I probably don't even need the pills anymore."

I'm not saying you didn't. [McCoy raised his brow.] And as long as those painkillers are in your system you're not getting a drop. Enjoy. [He placed the glass down and picked up his own.]

[Jim eyed the glass for a few moments before shrugging. It wasn't like he about to reveal that he let an angel heal him to the angry doctor man.] "Whatever. I'd say that Uhura's more likely to attack Nero than Spock."

I'm going to talk to her. [McCoy took a drink, frowning but taking another.] And what about you? You know I hate that every damned time I want to ask if someone's alright it feel like a fool question.

"If you're asking if I'm going to attack him, then you don't have to worry about that either." [Kirk said, rocking his chair from side to side, mostly out of the need for something to do besides sit there.] "If you mean the fleshwound that's practically healed, then that's also fine."

I mean the man that killed your father is here and I'm concerned. [McCoy crossed his arms.] And that 'fleshwound' wasn't exactly a scratch.

"I have no interest in digging those feelings up again right now." [At least not so soon after having that last breakdown like two weeks ago. That was just too much for him.]

"It's fine, Bones. I'm not just saying that."

[McCoy regarded him, nodding slightly before moving to stand in front of Kirk's chair.] Yeah- alright Jim. [He said without the usual sarcasm, brushing his thumb over Jim's temple before tugging Jim's shirt collar.] Come on, let me see that wound of yours.

[Kirk smacked McCoy's hand playfully.] "It's fine. Leave me my dignity for a day."

The fact you aren't making a come on is enough for me to worry. [McCoyput his hands to his waist.] Shirt, off. I'm the doctor here.

[Kirk crossed his arms over his chest and slouched further in the chair.] "I think we'd both be happier if my pants came off instead."

Jim. [McCoy narrowed his eyes.] What did you do?

[Jim just smiled at him innocently.] "I don't feel like being examined tonight. Unless it's in a clearly dirty manner."

Bullshit. What is it this time, a new wound from some reckless adventure of yours or a rash? [He said sarcastically.]

"Neither."

[And yeah, he had every intention of playing this game all night.]

[McCoy didn't bother answering- it wasn't like Kirk could get up and run away without running straight into him. He reached out and tried to tug Kirk's shirt, putting his free hand on the arm of Kirk's chair to try to trap him and making sure to keepfrom aggravating his wound more.]

[It wasn't like there was a wound left to aggravate anyway. But Kirk put up a good struggle about it anyway, twisting and turning and... playing right into Bones's hand. Though he didn't realize that his shirt had ridden up far enough to expose a space of healed skin just yet.]

"Bones, stop. This is like rape."

Oh yeah, this- [He stopped when he finally saw the stretch of skin, eye widening as he knelt and pressed his fingertips into Kirk's side.] -the hell, what happened?

[Fuck.

Jim sighed and gave up his struggle.]

"An angel offered to heal me and I took him up on it. Turns out it's pretty legit."

An angel? [McCoy glared up at him.] Are you insane? You let some random man here claiming to have magical powers experiment on you?

"Not experiment. He seemed to know what he was doing." [Kirk rolled his eyes a little bit.] "The worst that could've happened is that it didn't work and I'd be right where I was anyway. But now it's all better."

[McCoy had to take a minute to run a hand over his face.] Have you learned nothing from this place? Lord knows what he did- Adam's blood may work but human bodies- [He grappled with his bag for his scanner.] -aren't supposed to handle that sort of acceleration. Dermal regenerators are one thing, superficial at best- [He muttered.]

[Jim sighed dramatically. This is why he didn't want to tell Bones in the first place.] "It's not a big deal. I'm fine. Thought you could appreciate that."
