Chekov. Ensign. Dear one from Russia.

I want you to be really honest with me.

Do you hate me?

Yay for Text and it's ability to hide the "lolwhut" tone.

Ah, sir? What do you mean?

But the LOLWHUT is his best tone!

I don't know. I feel like I haven't heard from you at all. Ever.

I feel like you hate me.

Oh wait Filter that comment too. And this one. And aaah.

Who jumps to that conclusion? Captain, why would I hate you? You are, as I said, my Captain, yes?

FILTERED. POW.

[identity profile] captain-jtkirk.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but that doesn't guarantee me anything. I want you to respect and like me because you want to, not because of my title.

Old habits die hard, as we say in Russia. We have tried this before?

I'm pretty sure they say that everywhere.

Maybe it wouldn't be as hard of a concept for you to grasp if you hung out with me and Bones more.

It is common, true.

But Really? I have not been out much with anyone, now that I think about it.

Yes, really. I see him every damn day but it's like you drop off the face of the Barge.

I am sorry about that. It is easy to get wrapped up in thoughts, for me. Ah... When are you free? Would you like to take a run?

Let's meet in the gym later today and you can show me what you've got.

[Kirk ends up beating the Ensign up there. As he really doesn't have anything to occupy large amounts of his time, nothing at all like the responsibilities he faced on the Enterprise. This boat was like a vacation compared to that, even with the Borg invasion.

While he waits for Chekov, he practices a little bit with a punching bag, just warming up his muscles.]

[Chekov walks into the gym, feeling a bit awkward in his running gear but smiling. He trots right over to Kirk, as soon as he'd spotted him, and waves, waiting quietly outside the realm of the punching bag.]

You are ready?

[Kirk throws a couple more punches at the bag before he turns to face the ensign, practically beaming at him.]

"You betcha."

[He steps away from the bag, undoing the wrapping on one of his hands.]

"You got any combat training besides the basics?"

[Chekov shakes his head, blinking]

No, I did not have time in the Academy, and aside from helping Sulu sometimes?

[He smiles widely and shrugs.]

"You know, that's terrible for an officer aboard my ship."

[Kirk rewraps his hand and gestures at the ensign.]

"Come on. You should at least know how to throw a punch."
