[Kirk is likely, barely holding it together. Pike is dead, and he wants nothing more than to leave and hunt down the person who did it and he's slowly running out of the ability to talk himself out of doing just that.
But first, he wants to talk to Sulu, because he's suddenly sure this is what the pilot was keeping from him.]
[He's there, kind of tucked into the corner with a beer already. What are you supposed to do when your mentor dies and you're stuck on a prison ship because you said you'd graduate someone? Because he's got, no ideas.]
[ And so a starfleet captain walks into a bar... ]
[ Alpha is currently sitting behind it, making notes on one of Arkady's old menus. He and Ned had very quickly discovered Faith was gone and the pub was unstaffed. This wasn't such a bad thing for the wardens-- who could come and go as they pleased -- but inmates? Not so hot. ]
[ He glanced up, brows lifting. ]
Evening. Welcome to our humble public house. [ So snarky. He's going to be one of those barkeeps. ]
[ sulu feels bad. he feels bad because the first thing he feels is relief before the sadness, and when he closes his eyes for a brief moment, it's a thank fuck and it could have gone the other direction and i'm glad it didn't.
[Sitting in front of the bar and meticulously cleaning down the tables in preparation to reopen the pub is the Piemaker, anxiously watching his inmate for any signs of trouble]
[It's still kind of novel to let himself into the pub. He scans the room when he enters, spots Kirk and takes the time to grab a beer as well - which he really shouldn't have, but he doesn't really care - before heading over to slide into the seat across from Jim.]
[He nods at both of them, before sitting on a stool a couple down from Ned. Normally, Kirk is friendly, the type to sit right next to you and never shut up but his mentor is dead and the guy who did it is still out there and he can't focus on anything else.]
