.004 - video

I don't think these things are malfunctioning at all but if it's just an excuse to roll call, then I'm Captain James T. Kirk. My friends call me Jim.

[He tips the communicator to the side, and there's Spock. Looking stoic as always.]

And that's Spock. Don't worry kids, he always looks like that. He won't bite.

Are you familiar with Aya?

Aya? Yes. She assisted me on several projects.

[Leslie frowns, and reaches for another set of binders.]

I'm sorry -- I misunderstood and thought that you were a warden.

[Because he is friggin Spock. Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few! COME ON, BARGE.]

Not that there is anything at all wrong with being an inmate! I've seen many people graduate and go on to become contributing members of society.

[If Vulcans show offence this would be such an offended look, Leslie.]

I am not at liberty to disclose the details, but she has encountered... difficulties in her journey to become an emotional being. I have been assigned to assist her.

[Leslie can't process your non-offended look, because what? Out of every warden that Leslie could think of, she'd never imagine someone as reliable as Aya to get demoted.]

I...see. [Okay. Inmate binder, away.] How is your relationship with Aya, so far? Do you meet regularly?
logistical: (now look here)

[You and everyone else, Leslie. Spock is just going to move on now.]

We have established a routine she finds suitable.
lesliemonster: (oh my stars)

[Probably a good move, 'cause Leslie is still processing.]

That's good. That's a first step that a lot of wardens aren't able to manage. What about short-term goals?

Determining the flaws in her reasoning. As a machine of considerable computing power, it is logical to approach the issue in a way she may comprehend.

That sounds very important! [And detailed, dang Spock, way to keep them details tight]

But I'm moreso talking about hobbies. Part time jobs. Social events. Things that get a resident of this ship connected with their community.

[Ah. That, he has very little experience with.]

What would you suggest?

What are Aya's interests? Skillsets?

She is currently equipped to and interested in destroying all emotional beings in the universe.

[Hey, you asked.]
lesliemonster: (really though think about it)

[HUMANS!!]

No. It's a board game. One that I am awesome at.

[Okay. Leslie flips over to her "funtivities for would-be genocidal maniacs" section.]

In Aya's condition, I would say that forging a connection to emotional beings is all the more important. Perhaps some sort of job or project, where she has to rely on the help of others? Or even an activity where she has to at least process the emotions of others. I find that the arts can provide a good outlet for that.

I agree. [But he himself is so bad at friends, he has no idea how to go about encouraging someone else to make them.] What activities would you suggest specifically?
