That surprised him enough that he didn't have an immediate answer. She really wasn't the same girl she'd been when he met her two years ago. She trusted more and wasn't as apathetic as she used to be.

"I've been your friend. And yes, that's super cheesy but speaking from one emotional retard to another, it matters."
