Her smile was smaller but more genuine. "Thank you."

She lifted her bottle. "To...unexpected guests?"

Jim tipped his bottle to tap hers lightly and took a drink. "Next time let's toast to your legs. I still am really fond of them."

She chuckled. "It's almost as if you had ulterior motives in inviting me here, Jim." Her tone made it entirely clear that she didn't mind.

"Would that really upset you?"

"Not in the least. As it happens, your legs aren't terrible either."

"It's the pants. Starfleet makes them abnormally tight."

"Well, it's nice of them to spare me from having to use my imagination."

"They are really thoughtful to all the perverts of the world."

She laughed and took a gulp of beer. This was nice. It was easy to just drink and flirt outrageously with Kirk and just...suspend everything else. It would crash back down the moment she left his cabin, of course, but that was yet to come.
