He felt guilty for a lot of things that had happened over the past few weeks, really. It still took him a few hours to summon the will to get up and go visit her.]

It doesn't work like that, I'm afraid. He can't use magic to conjure food up out of nothing, and he can't cook. We're going to be doing loads of take away when we go home.
