captain_jtkirk: (plays with guns)

spam for Shego

[Kirk wished he could say he was surprised by the sudden turn of events on this port. But it was the Barge, so if there was such a thing as a boring port, then that was really worrisome. Was there some horrible death awaiting them out there? Probably. But sitting around this Vault thing wasn't going to do any good.

So he checked his gun, and glanced over at Shego.]

"Ready?"

Kirk couldn't do much of anything but stare for a few seconds. One moment he'd been struggling to breathe (which was really just getting old by this point) and the next he was on the ground, the raider bleeding and dead nearby and Shego wielding a pipe above him.

Once he recovered from the shock, it occurred to him that he'd never seen her kill someone like that before. It wasn't to say that she hadn't, he didn't see everything and he hadn't known her for most of her life but yeah. It maybe explained why her knuckles were turning white.

"Um, thanks," Jim said a little awkwardly, slowly moving to his feet. "I can take that if you want."

What she actually wanted to do was never ever look at it again or acknowledge that it existed or what she'd done, ever, but that would involve admitting she had a problem with anything relating to this situation. So she just shook her head and let her grip loosen fractionally.

"I'm good." She waved a hand down the trail. "Let's just keep moving. We can't be more than a couple hours away now, and I seriously don't want to know what the Admiral's gonna do to any stragglers."

"Okay." Kirk mostly just didn't fight her about it because he wasn't entirely sure yet how she was handling it. Something he could focus on once they were safe back on the Barge and no one was trying to kill them. "You think you can run it? It'll be even faster."

"Yeah." She set the pipe down, because a) it was covered in blood and had a chunk of scalp clinging to it and b) she didn't need it weighing her down on a cross-country run while she was already dehydrated. She took a few gulps of water from the one remaining bottle in her pack, resealed and replaced it carefully, then set off at a jog to warm up. The sooner they were back the sooner she could go hide in a shower cubicle forever.

Not forever. Maybe a day and then Kirk was coming to find her and drag her out of her emo hole.

Kirk didn't bother taking a drink of water before he started jogging after her. Just decided to suck it up and go because being a little dehydrated hadn't killed him yet while the natives here had come a lot closer to that.
