I'm not sure really, how many friends he might have had here but if you knew him, Derek Hale has left.

True, but it was only through that experience that I was able to fully grasp a deeper purpose. I believe the same is true in this case. If I can prove she is not as emotionless as she claims to be, it will only serve to propel her towards graduation.

I suggested that to be a successful captain, you need to know as much about how the ship works as you do about the crew. You're responsible for both, neither is going to work if the other isn't in prime condition.

[She dithers briefly and then makes two vodka and cokes.]

We've got it, I'm pretty sure between the four of us we pull about 24 hour rotations as is. Shouldn't be too hard to tweak it.

That's admirable, honestly. I always tried to know a little bit about what all my colleagues did. Not - that I was running the show, I just felt safer that way.

[And that also meant she could go to London and do an alien autopsy when a particular colleague was too hungover to move.]
