It was really, really hard for her not to think that Regina was going to go the same way as Rourke - that she had, essentially, wasted four months and would have to wait n months more for a third Inmate. It wasn't even like she had a concrete deal with the Admiral, and while she knew the draw of a blank check just as much as the next hardworking girl it was tricky to avoid a sense of is-this-really-worth-it-ness. She was hardly going to leave Kirk to his own post-mortem devices but if Flynn graduated tomorrow and he returned to the Enterprise without a backward glance (as she knew he would)? She really didn't know.
